I was lucky enough to go to Iceland. Coffee and bread were a large part of the trip. You can imagine the details: crusty, pillowy breads with butter and jam and steaming hot drinks with various levels of milk and coffee consumed daily.
Here is a pic of my favorite cappuccino not only from the trip, but ever. As the barista handed it to me we both cracked up—I mean really, really laughed really, really hard. He told me it was his first day on the job and he was expected to master latte art. This is a pic of his first go at it.
I laugh every time I see it—no other latte art has ever compared. It is a simple, silly gesture that now serves to inspire joy. The dang smiley face was not expected. Its arrival in my coffee has now somehow found its way to you.
